Located in the famous Black Forest of central Colorado, Castlewood Canyon provides trails for hiking. The ruins of the century old Castlewood Canyon Dam form the centerpiece of the park and hiking trails wind into the deepest regions of the canyon. While hiking on trails at Castlewood Canyon, guests can see scenic waterfalls and historic sites.
Those can be found from any of the following pullouts along Rim Rock Drive: Independence Monument View, Grand View, Artists Point, Highland View, Coke Ovens Overlook, Upper Ute Canyon Overlook, Ute Canyon View, Red Canyon Overlook, and Cold Shivers Point
