Introduction:
Lofoten is a group of islands in the northern part of Norway. With its postcard-looking small fishing villages nestled in fjords, dotting a very rugged coast with abrupt peaks rising directly from the ocean, the archipelago is often described as one of the most scenic parts of Norway.

Getting there:
A new section of highway E10 was opened on December 1 2007, giving Lofoten ferry-free road connection with the mainland for the first time. The bus ride from Narvik to Svolvær takes 4 hours 15 minutes, with two daily services in each direction.

Camping:
The parking is on the left side of the beach, a short drive past the village.  This is also a popular place for camping on the grassy dunes behind the beach.
