Introduction:
Glencoe or Glencoe Village is the main settlement in Glen Coe in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands. It lies at the north-west end of the glen, on the southern bank of the River Coe where it enters Loch Leven
fact:
It is owned by the National Trust for Scotland and is considered one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in Scotland. It is a part of the designated National Scenic Area of Ben Nevis and Glen Coe. Loch Leven, in the adjacent area, is a salt water loch connected to Loch Linnhe, a sea loch.
Getting there:
Regular local buses operated by Stagecoach run from Fort William and Kinlochleven to Glencoe Village. Scottish Citylink coaches from Glasgow (and Edinburgh during the summers season) to Fort William, Kyle of Lochalsh and Skye pass through the glen itself and stop in Glencoe Village several times a day.
