Introduction:
Iceberg Lake is located in Glacier National Park, in the U. S. state of Montana. Mount Wilbur is south and Iceberg Peak is west of Iceberg Lake. Iceberg Peak towers more than 3,000 feet (910 m) above the lake
What to take:
The Iceberg Lake Trail is a very easy hike in comparison to other hiking trails in Glacier National Park. Still, due to the mountains and the Ptarmigan Wall which blocks all views to the West (thus, you can't see approaching storms), a hiker should be prepared for a few contingencies.
Get in:
West Glacier Park Station (Amtrak station code: WGL) - This historic railroad depot has a small historical museum but no ticketing office or automated ticketing machines.
Hwy 2 and Going-to-the-Sun Rd., West Glacier, MT 59936
East Glacier Park Station (Amtrak station code: GPK) - This station is open from May 1 through October 1.
