Lake Geneva Region:

The Lake Geneva Region, encompassing Lausanne. Lauvaux and Montreux, has two UNESCO World Heritage Site listings and is the fifth most popular area of Switzerland.

The setting of Lausanne is so picturesque it’s not surprising the International Olympic Committee has been based here since 1914. The town, built on three hills, is surrounded by vineyard-covered slopes, with Lake Geneva at its feet and the Savoy Alps of France across the lake. The attractive old town, dominated by the cathedral regarded as Switzerland’s most impressive piece of early Gothic architecture, is filled with cafes and boutiques shaping the streetscape in the medieval city center.

Nearby Lavaux is a wonderful world of vineyard terraces. At 800 hectares it is Switzerland’s largest contiguous vineyard area with terraces that not only offer magnificent views, but also produce such fine wines as St-Saphorin, Dézaley and Epesses. Travelers can taste them on visits to one of the charming pintes, mini-restaurants typical of the Lavaux.

Engadin St. Moritz:

The valley has plenty of sunny days, and it has mineral springs and a very pleasant climate. Piz Bernina is the only four-thousander in the eastern Alps (4,049 m. altitude). Piz Palü, Piz Corvatsch, Corviglia and Diavolezza are among its other well-known peaks and skiing areas.

The Rhine Falls:

The Rhine Falls  is the largest plain waterfall in Europe.The falls are located on the High Rhine between the municipalities of Neuhausen am Rheinfall and Laufen-Uhwiesen, near the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland, between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich. They are 150 m (450 ft) wide and 23 m (75 ft) high.

The nearest community is Neuhausen am Rheinfall, where tourists can also view the Schloss Wörth castle.[4] Boat trips can be taken up the Rhine to the falls and the Rheinfallfelsen. There are also viewing platforms with a spectacular view of the falls built on both sides of the Rhine.

Château de Chillon :

The Château de Chillon is an island castle located on the shore of Lake Geneva, south of Veytaux in the canton of Vaud. It is situated at the eastern end of the lake, halfway between Montreux and Villeneuve. The castle consists of 100 independent buildings that were gradually connected to become the building as it stands now. Chillon is amongst the most visited castles in Switzerland and Europe.
